Stop Using Outdated Contact Forms: How We 10x’d Lead Enrichment With Just 2 Fields

Still asking for name, title, and company in your contact forms? Here’s how we replaced all that with just LinkedIn + email — and got better leads, cleaner data, and less friction.

In 2025, there’s no excuse for using a bloated “Contact Us” form straight out of 2013. Long forms slow down your funnel, frustrate qualified leads, and capture low-quality data that tools can already find for you.

Here’s how we rebuilt our entire contact flow at Decade Journey using just two fields — and automated the rest using Clay, Make.com, and Google Sheets.

Why Traditional Contact Forms Don’t Work Anymore

Most B2B contact forms still ask for:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Job Title

  • Company Name

  • Number of Employees

  • Industry

  • Country

Not only is that redundant (you can enrich this instantly with a LinkedIn URL), it also adds friction — especially on mobile. Busy prospects bounce. You lose revenue.

The Modern Alternative: Just Ask for 2 Inputs

We stripped our form down to two fields:

  • LinkedIn Profile URL

  • Email Address

That’s it. Once submitted, we enrich the rest.

How It Works (Step-by-Step)

1. Capture the Minimal Data

Using a simple Google Sheet as our backend, we collect just the LinkedIn URL and email from the form.

2. Send to Clay via Make.com

We use a Make.com scenario to:

  • Watch for new rows in Google Sheets

  • Send a Slack notification for each new inbound lead

  • Push the data into a Clay table for enrichment

3. Enrich Everything Automatically in Clay

Once the data hits Clay, we enrich the lead with:

  • Full Name

  • Job Title

  • Company

  • Number of Employees

  • Industry

  • LinkedIn Followers

  • Profile Validity (we even clean malformed URLs using Claygent)

4. Sync Enriched Data Back to Google Sheets

All enriched data is pushed back into the original sheet, giving our sales and marketing teams clean, structured leads — without lifting a finger.

5. Built Without Code

This setup requires zero development. It’s powered entirely by:

  • Google Sheets (data entry)

  • Make.com (workflow automation)

  • Clay (data enrichment)

Anyone can replicate this with the right walkthrough (we linked ours below).

What You Gain

  • Faster form submissions

  • Cleaner lead data

  • Accurate firmographics and role info

  • Higher completion rates

  • Less manual data cleaning

Who This Works For

This method is best for B2B audiences that understand LinkedIn. If someone can’t paste a URL, they’re likely not your ideal buyer.
